About Me

Hi, I’m Daniel — owner, photographer, and your personal guide at Roaming Wild with Daniel.

I created this company because I believe Yellowstone’s wildlife deserves to be experienced intimately, respectfully, and not on a crowded bus. After years of visiting the park as a passionate wildlife photographer, I decided to offer something different: truly private, high-end tours limited to just 1 or 2 guests.

Born and raised with a deep love for the outdoors, I’ve spent countless hours behind the lens chasing light, behavior, and rare moments in nature. My move into guiding came naturally — I wanted to share the park I love with people who value quality over quantity. I now split my time between Tennessee and Montana so I can be in Yellowstone during the best seasons.

My Approach

I’m not here to rush you from viewpoint to viewpoint. I’m here to help you truly see Yellowstone. We start early (often 1 hour before sunrise) to catch the absolute best wildlife activity, move at your pace, and stay flexible based on what the animals are doing each day. Whether we’re watching a wolf pack, observing a grizzly foraging, or enjoying the graceful movements of Sandhill Cranes in morning light, the focus is always on meaningful, ethical wildlife encounters.

What I Bring

•  Deep knowledge of Yellowstone’s wildlife patterns, especially in the Northern Range and Lamar Valley

•  Professional wildlife photography experience with high-end Canon gear (R6 II, 5D IV, Premium 500mm lens, 1.4x teleconverter and more)

•  Premium Swarovski ATX 115 spotting scope with 1.7x converter and multiple pairs of Vortex Diamondback binoculars

•  A genuine passion for sharing the park’s stories — from ecology to animal behavior to conservation

My Promise

When you book with me, you get my full attention for your entire 2-day experience. No distractions. No compromises. Just a deeply personal, expertly guided adventure designed to create memories that last a lifetime.

If you’re someone who appreciates quiet mornings in the park, world-class optics, thoughtful details (like fresh bakery breakfasts and gourmet picnic lunches) and a guide who genuinely cares about both you and the wildlife — I’d love to share Yellowstone with you.

I hold a current Yellowstone Guide License, advanced food handler certification, CPR/First Aid, and follow strict Leave No Trace principles on every tour. Your safety, comfort and the well-being of the wildlife are my top priorities.
